Horacio is coming to the Outlaw Organization with many years of experience as a coach and an athlete. His coaching experience includes high school, middle school, 10 -18u club, and recreation. Most recently he served as the head coach of the Tonopah Valley High
School Softball Program from 2007 to 2009. He has also coached high school football, baseball, wrestling and track. Among his most rewarding coaching experiences was his work with both the Arizona and New Mexico Special Olympics! Horacio taught physical education for ten years, working with students from Kindergarten through twelfth
grade and currently works at Valley Vista High School in Surprise as a Security Officer.
In 2000 he was the starting center for the Duluth Superior Lumberjacks of the Indoor Football League after many years as an amateur athlete. His athletic experience includes baseball, track, wrestling, football, golf, racquetball and slow pitch softball. As an Arizona native he counts Douglas High School and Western New Mexico University as his Alma Maters. In 2007 Horacio earned the National Championship title in the Men’s C Age 35+ for racquetball. Currently his role as husband, dad and coach, has him enjoying playing sports at a much more recreational level!
Horacio and his wife Kathleen have two children, Josh age 21 and Bailey 13. When they aren’t at the softball field you can find the Honne’s barbequing with family, catching an L A Dodger or San Francisco 49er game on TV, or routing for the Arizona Wildcats – especially verses the Sun Devils.
Horacio’s idols include Jenny Finch and Anthony Munoz. He believes that dedication and desire mean more than natural ability. Girls stepping on the field with Coach Horse should be prepared to have fun, work hard, and never forget that they will win and lose as a team demonstrating dignity and respect at all times.
